Adorata Campsite & Lodge is located in the game management area of the South Luangwa National Park
in Zambia, Southern Africa. The lodge/campsite is situated on an oxbow lagoon, overlooking the majestic Luangwa
River in Mambwe district 130 km from Chipata town, the capital of the Eastern Province of Zambia. We are only
28 km (25 min drive) from Mfuwe International Airport, which is about 1,5h flight from Lusaka International Airport,

Adorata – which also means Adorable – is very unique and true to the word. The site boasts of a unique range
of wildlife, which includes four of the big five, namely Lion, Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard. Other wildlife to be seen
is Giraffe, Hippos, Warthog, and Impala. A variety of Birds are found there, like the bee eater. The site offers
guests a setting alongside the Oxbow Lagoon overlooking the wide and beautiful side of the Luangwa River, with a
wide and lovely mountain view, unique only at Adorata. The Lodge and Campsite is surrounded by grassed areas,
shady trees, and thatched shelters. Your stay at Adorata will ensure you have every opportunity to see all that the
valley offers of its wildlife, birds and varying vegetation and habitat.
The famous Adorata Sunset will awaken something in you that will make you always wanting to come back.
The night life, especially the moonlight nights at Adorata will show you the silhouette of animal and tree shadows
and truly romantic nights.
Accommodation facilities
Our chalets offer a combination of comfortable and affordable ensuites with warm borehole water. An open Bar
and Restaurant are conveniently located at the centre of the Lodge and Campsite and caters for local and inter-
national menus and also meals cooked on an open fire. On arrival, you will be met and welcomed by our competent
and friendly staff including, indigenous people from the area. They will interact with you during your stay and
would be able to tell you, their african local cultural values, traditional and wildlife tales. We are english, german
and french speaking.

Safaris & Activities
Apart from the National Park Walking Safaris (June to October) we offer walks on the »lodge-side« of the river Bank,
which is in the game management area but very much frequented by all kinds of animals, a real animal corridor.
Watch the animals drinking their last sip of water for the day...
Game viewing can be done at close distances from the chalets, tents or in vehicles. Adorata also offers a chance
to Professional Walking Safaris, Morning and Night Game Drives. Mountain hiking at 1500 meters above sea level,
bathing in a hot spring, visits to a cultural village. Traditional Dance Classes are also conducted. Fishing is another
activity, which you can enjoy, on request, at Adorata. Fishing rods are provided at the Lodge. Our Curio Shop offers
traditional herbs and African Antique carvings.
